Russia unveils VR control of a humanoid robot for the first time A Russian company has announced a system for remote control of humanoid robots via immersive interfaces.

The first robot in Russia with telemetry – control using VR technology – was presented by the Russian company IT Imperial at the Technology Festival organized by "Techprosvet VKontakte".

"The robot can replicate movements in real time. At the same time, the person wearing virtual reality glasses can see everything around them here and now," Anna Bagdasarian, Deputy CEO of the company, told TASS during a demonstration of the robot at the forum.

Bagdasarian noted that IT Imperial's development is the first of its kind in Russia – telemetry with 360‑degree video streaming. In addition, the company's specialists have developed an autonomous navigation system that does not use the internet, allowing the robot to follow a given route while avoiding obstacles.

"We are combining this navigation technology with telemetry so that during navigation it is possible to take control of the robot via virtual reality and intervene in dangerous situations," Bagdasarian added.

It was noted that this telemetry platform is suitable for any robots that run on Robot Operating System (ROS), i.e., any robots on the ROS 2 platform, including robot dogs.

Orders for the technology developed by IT Imperial have already been received. "In fact, the market is already lining up. The largest distributors are interested in mass‑producing robots specifically with our telemetry," Bagdasarian added.

Earlier, the company presented its developed humanoid robot at the international exhibition GITEX GLOBAL 2025 in the UAE and signed agreements with companies from Saudi Arabia and Jordan.
